I’m a wife, a mum, a freelance writer, a blogger, a renovator, a decorator, a redecorator, a crafter, a chocolate addict and sometimes - sometimes - I can be found sitting on my deck doing absolutely nothing but lazily enjoying the sunshine and listening to birds chirp. But that that doesn’t happen very often because I like being busy – and when I don’t want to be busy, my two kids make sure that I am.

The Happy Home is about - you guessed it – creating a happy home for my family. A home full of things we love, (hopefully) stylish, liveable and affordable spaces, creative pursuits and projects, and fun activities with the little ones. A happy place that looks – and feels – like the four of us who live here.

This blog is a record of this never-ending, ever-changing journey – the renovation, the decoration, the projects, the successes, the failures, the indecisiveness, the planning and all the fun and games in-between. I also like to share my loves, new finds, interesting tips or something new I’ve discovered, so I hope you’ll join me regularly – you might learn a thing or two, perhaps be inspired or just enjoy being a fly-on-the-wall to a little Aussie family living its dream. And we are – the dream changes with us, so we’re not aiming too hard for the finish line as the fun is in the journey. Besides, I’m not sure what I’d do with myself if we ever crossed it…

These two rascals make guest appearances time to time: Zak, 3 and Layla, 1. Together with my husband, Steve, they’re all I’ve ever wanted in life. Although sometimes, you just might see them wandering the streets with “free to good home” signs on them. All three of them…
